George Hertner, MD

EMSPC President

Chief of Emergency Medicine – Memorial Health System Emergency Departments

George Hertner, MD, FACEP, was born in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a BS and BA in Biology and Chemistry and attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He then completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of South Carolina. Additionally, he completed the Board Certification for Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Dr. Hertner is Chief of Emergency Medicine for the Memorial Health System Emergency Departments and President of Emergency Medical Specialists, PC (EMSPC). He also serves on the leadership teams of our two core partners—as Managing Owner of Peak Medical Care, PLLC, and as CEO of Vital Signs Resource Management, Inc.

He manages coverage of eight emergency departments totaling over 190,000 annual visits and leads a group of 60+ physicians and 40+ Advanced Practice Providers in throughput and best practice issues. Additionally, Dr. Hertner serves on several hospital committees and is active in research including hospital throughput, point of care testing, and opiate utilization. He frequently conducts lectures and consultations throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Auna Leatham, MD

EMSPC Vice President

Dr. Leatham grew up in a military family and spent her childhood moving throughout the US and Germany. She attended medical school at the University of Vermont and completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at Parkland County Hospital/UTSW in Dallas, TX. Dr. Leatham joined EMS, PC in 2017 and was named to the Board of Directors in 2019. She is currently the medical director of the emergency department at Memorial Central and serves on various quality committees. Her passions are in operational efficiency, wellness, and education. 

Les Moats, MD

Dr. Leslie Moats obtained his BS in Biology from Lander College in Greenwood, SC before completing medical school at the University of South Carolina. He fulfilled his residency in Emergency Medicine at Palmetto Health in South Carolina, serving as Chief Resident in 1998-1999. Les continued as a clinical instructor at Palmetto Health until 2010, when he joined EMSPC. He serves as Medical Director of UCH – Memorial Lifeline Critical Care Transport, Co-medical Director of UCH’s Free-Standing Emergency Departments, and is on the board of directors for Emergency Medical Specialists, PC (EMSPC) and Vital Signs Resource Management (VSRM). He was honored with the “Golden Scalpel” award in 2018 by the Memorial Emergency Department staff.

Crystal White, MSN, MS, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC

APP Leadership Team, Co-manager

Crystal joined EMSPC in 2018 with more than 10 years of nursing and nurse educator experience.  After growing up in Oregon, Crystal earned her BS in Nursing from Oral Roberts University and began her nursing career in Texas.  She quickly discovered her passion for education, and after earning her first MS in Education, lead multiple nursing residencies in Texas before relocating to Colorado, where she became the ED Nurse Educator for UCHealth – Memorial Central.  Crystal later went on to complete her MS in Nursing at Colorado State University and holds dual certifications as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.  In 2023, Crystal was elected to the APP Leadership team, where she serves at the main APP contact for Memorial Hospital Central and leads the APP Education Program.  Crystal feels truly grateful to be part of the incredible team at EMSPC where she is able to further pursue her passions surrounding education and providing excellent patient care.

Linda Miller, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C

App Leadership Team, Co-Manager

Linda has been with EMSPC as a Nurse Practitioner since 2015 and has been providing care for ER patients in the UCHealth system for over 13 years. Since joining EMSPC, she has become a resource for fellow APPs, providing clinical guidance and leading advanced procedural education.  In 2023, Linda was elected to the APP Leadership Team by her peers and serves as the main APP contact for Memorial Hospital North, represents the APPs on the North Unit Practice Council, and provides clinical oversight to the APP schedule.  She earned her MS in Nursing from Colorado State University.  Linda is a Daisy Award nominee and holds dual certifications as both an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Marilyn Schrepel, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Marilyn is a Certified Public Accountant and spent her career prior to joining Emergency Medical Specialists in the public accounting sector.  She started her career in a large regional firm in Kansas City and settled in Colorado Springs in 1995.  She started her own firm in 2000, specializing in tax and accounting services to physicians and physician groups of all sizes. In May 2018, Marilyn was hired full time by EMSPC as their CFO. At that time, she had over 20 years of experience working with EMSPC as their outside CPA. Upon its formation in 2019, Marilyn also became the CFO of Vital Signs Resource Management, Inc. Marilyn earned her BS in Accounting from the University of Kansas.

Andria Graversen, SHRM-CP

Human Resources Director

Andria is a transplanted native to Colorado who came to Emergency Medical Specialists, PC from the finance and insurance industry. She initially joined EMSPC on a part time basis, later expanding her role and taking on the position of Human Resources Director in 2018. Andria obtained her SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification in 2018 and assists the group in interviewing, onboarding, staffing and benefits, and performance monitoring. Upon its formation in 2019, Andria also became the Human Resources Director for Vital Signs Resource Management, Inc. Andria earned her BA in Communication from the University of Colorado.

Kathryn Heyden

scheduler

Kathryn joined VSRM in April of 2020 after working for UC Health in the hospital for over 5 years. She joined the team as a part-time physician scheduler and recently expanded her role to become the APP scheduler in 2021. She earned her BS in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Florida and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.

Clara haney

HR Specialist

Clara joined Vital Signs Resource Management in December of 2022. Clara has a background in hospitality, operations management, and residency management, and is a Colorado native. Prior to joining VSRM, Clara spent four years as the Family Medicine Residency Coordinator at Peak Vista Community Health Centers. Clara earned her BS in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver.

Barb Gray

Office Manager

Barb joined Vital Signs Resource Management in November of 2023.  She has a varied background in administration and healthcare, and earned her BS in Biology, with a minor in Business Administration, from the University of Colorado Denver.  She has two children, is a Colorado native, and enjoys serving the community as a member of El Paso County Search and Rescue.

We strongly believe that investing in the success of our medical professionals is vital to the success of our mission at EMS.

PMC provides hospital inpatient care at Grandview Hospital and Pikes Peak Hospital, in addition to providing CDU services at Memorial Central.
